January Wellness Wednesdays
Welcome to a new year of Wellness Wednesdays, where we focus on building resilience and well-being for our school community. January’s word of the month is Commitment!
What is Commitment?
Commitment means sticking with your goals, even when things get tough. It’s about making a plan and following through. When students and families commit to healthy habits, it helps everyone feel stronger, more confident, and ready to handle challenges.
Why It Matters for Students and Parents
- Students: Commitment helps you stay on track with homework, friendships, and personal goals.
- Parents: Modeling commitment shows kids how to keep promises and build resilience.
How to Put Commitment Into Practice
- Pick One Goal Together – Maybe it’s reading 15 minutes a day, eating more veggies, or getting enough sleep.
- Make a Simple Plan – Write it down and post it somewhere visible.
- Celebrate Progress – Every small step counts! High-fives and encouragement go a long way.
- Adjust When Needed – Life happens—commitment means trying again, not giving up.
Family Challenge:
This month, choose one wellness goal as a family. Share your plan and cheer each other on. Remember, commitment is the bridge between wanting something and making it happen!
