February Wellness Wednesdays

Showing Respect Everyday

Feb 06, 2026
Respect

For February, our Wellness Wednesday focus is on Respect—a key part of building a positive school community and supporting both resilience and wellbeing. Respect means showing others they are important by what you say and do. It’s a simple idea with a big impact.

When students learn to treat others with kindness, listen carefully, and choose their words thoughtfully, they help create a school environment where everyone feels safe, valued, and ready to learn. When families practice respect at home, it strengthens communication and helps children build the confidence they need to face challenges.

What Respect Looks Like

  • Using kind words—even when you’re frustrated.
  • Listening fully when someone is speaking.
  • Being aware of how your actions affect others.
  • Treating everyone fairly, even if they’re different from you.

Why Respect Builds Resilience

Respect helps students build strong relationships, manage conflicts, and feel supported. It is an important skill for bouncing back when things get tough.

Try This at Home

Choose one small way your family can show extra respect this week.
Here are a few ideas:

  • Saying “thank you” and “please” more often
  • Giving someone your full attention
  • Helping a family member without being asked
  • Using positive language during disagreements

Every respectful choice makes our school community stronger.

This February, let’s work together to show, through our words and actions, that everyone matters.
